A Brief introduction to the  E.G.H.A.C.

In 2007 the members of the East Gippsland Branch of the GHAC (Gippsland Historical Automobile Club)  decided that it would become an incorporated Club in its own right and it became the East Gippsland Historical Automobile Club (EGHAC) later that year. The Club retains an affiliation with the GHAC.

With a membership approaching a hundred and twenty members, it offers its members regular outings most of which are social and entertaining club runs. It aspires to conduct at least one extended tour annually, generally within Victoria and participates in a Victorian Tri club rally every year

For new members who may be uninitiated in historic cars or engines they are deemed to be “Veteran” if they were manufactured prior to 1st January 1919, those deemed to be “Vintage” are those manufactured between January 1919 and December 1930 and finally those deemed “Classic” are those manufactured between 1931 and 25 years of age or older. Classic vehicles may also be categorised as Historic '30s, '40s – '80s.

In retaining its affiliation with the GHAC members can either on their own or as a club participate in the events of other GHAC affiliated clubs giving opportunities each weekend to enjoy the fellowship of like minded people.

State events are included in our events calendar as EGHAC is a member in its own right of the Federation of Veteran, Vintage & Classic Vehicle Clubs (FVVCVC) and the Association of Motoring Clubs (AOMC). Members can take advantage of the many events that are available through these bodies.

Monthly meetings are held on the Second Wednesday of the Month at Delvine Hall in Macarthur street Bairnsdale at 7:30 pm .

This is a great opportunity for members to discuss topics that vary from engines to collectables in the members sheds to reports on visits to other club events and of course the latest coffee, nibble and natter run.

Members are encouraged to suggest future events and with an active executive and the latest news is always available via a monthly GHAC  newsletter and an up to date Website.

The Club also has a very popular  lending library for the use of all members.

The aim of this website is to foster the interest in owning, restoring, and enjoying the use of historic automobiles and in reaching others who may have an interest in historic vehicles and are currently unaware that right at their doorstep in Bairnsdale East Gippsland is an Automobile Club that will make them most welcome.

 Please Note:

All club runs start from our meeting room (Delvine Hall)

in Macarthur street Bairnsdale
